Lavender Milk Tea (Lavender Syrup)

Ingredients:

For the tea

1 cup black tea

1 cup ice

2 tbsp milk of your choice

1 tbsp lavender syrup

For the syrup –

(this will make a lot more syrup than needed but it stores for a while at room temperature)

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

1 tbsp food grade lavender

Directions:

Start by making the syrup so it can cool down before adding it to the tea.

Add all the syrup ingredients to a small pot and bring to a boil. When boiling, whisk for one minute before taking it off the heat and setting it aside.

Next, put ice in a glass and pour in tea.

Mix in milk and lavender syrup until combined.

Tips:

If you’re steeping your own black tea, allow to cool down so it doesn’t melt the ice. If you don’t have time to cool it down, I would just use more ice.

Put the syrup in an airtight container so it doesn’t crystallize.

You can add purple food coloring to the syrup if you want and it will make it a nice lavender color once in the tea.
